Jennies Engagement Ring

I was searching through iPhoto when I found a photo of Jennie's engagement ring. I don't think I've posted it before and I think its a nice shot. I'm not sure if I've told anyone about the story of finding this ring (other than Jennie and my folks) due to the subject not really coming up. So what is so significant about a basic solitary diamond engagement ring? It isn't a regular size (5, 5 1/2, 6, etc.).

I was looking for a ring downtown at a real jewelry shop (not an overpriced mall one) when this one caught my eye. At the time I wasn't sure if I wanted to ask Jennie to marry me so I just mentally noted the ring and left. I went back about a two weeks later when I was certain I would ask her (ask me sometime how I figured out she was "the one"). I asked the sales rep if they still had the ring and she soon found it. After looking at it for a while I explained what my situation was and that her ring finger was not a standard size (whose is?), but a size between 5 1/2 and 6, specifically 5 3/4. I also told her that because she has thin fingers that both sizes 5 1/2 and 6 don't fit her well. She decided to measure the ring and it turned out to be exactly 5 3/4's! She quickly explained that this was certainly a nice surprise and that since it isn't a standard size it must have been custom made. That is something I really wanted because it isn't just something you could buy anywhere.

God is so amazing. Not only do I have a much more awesome story about how I knew she was the one but I have a great story about how He affirmed that thought even more!
